Ipad is disabled

My daughters ipad is disabled after her friend decided to change her password and then forgot it!! Now it says ipad is disabled and to connect to itunes. I have done this and found out I will have to restore the ipad back to factory settings but it keeps coming up saying ipad cannot be restored. An unknown error has occurred 3194? What do I do from here?
