OS X Server 10.6 freezes

I need help. I have a MacBook Pro that acts as a server with 10.6.8. It's configured for Web, Mail, FTP and MySQL.

It gets Kernel Panic 3 to 10 times a week.

Before you say it's hardware related it did the same thing on a Mac Mini and another MacBook Pro. It feels extremely unlikely that all three machines have bad hardware...

Fortunately, I found the "Restart automatically if the computer freezes" setting in System Preferences > Energy Saver, which helps a lot. But it still takes five or ten minutes before it actually reboots the computer, which is not so okey during office hours.

(I am trying to include the Crash Report, but the forum system complains about a "non valid" character, and I can't find anything strange)

I don't know where to look. Would it work better if I upgraded to a newer OS X? (I still don't want to because I'm too uncertain about SQL and I'm afraid that something will break)
