If im using auto bright and then change the brightness with the menu from the bottom of the screen. Does it revert back after a period of time ?

If auto bightness option is enabled it automatically adjusts the screen brightness even if you change it manually
Auto brightness will continue to operate until it is turned off in settings,
Changing the brightness manually will hold for a period of time until a drastic change in lighting condition is recorded.

If the ambient light level in the room changed, it should. Manually adjusting the brightness from Control Center doesn't turn off Autobrightness.
However. Autobrightness doesn't work very well. And, you're likely to use less battery if you turn it off and turn the brightness down to the lowest level with which you are comfortable.
