How do I delete the program Toast from my computer so that I might reinstall it?

I feel your pain. Spin Doctor is no longer supported by Roxio, the makers of Toast. Toast 12 and 14 no include the program for that matter. The Toast application itself stands alone from Spin Doctor which was included in the Toast package. As OS X progressed Spin Doctor started becoming less and less stable and Roxio never lifted a finger to fix problems. The Roxio support forums are full of disgruntled Spin Doctor users left out in the cold. I was one of them.

You don’t say which version of OS X you are now running but if it’s relatively current you are probably out of luck in getting Spin Doctor to work properly. I have started to use a free alternative to Spin Doctor called Audacity to convert my old vinyl records and tapes.

There are several methods for uninstalling apps.

• First is to contact the developer to see if they have an uninstall utility.
• Next is to simply drag the app to the Trash from the Applications folder in Finder and empty the Trash.
• Next is to use a utility such as AppCleaner.

Deleting and re-installing an application is an old Windows troubleshooting technique that doesn’t apply to OS X. If an application is written properly for OS X simply dragging it to the Trash deletes the app.

Why do you want to delete and reinstall Toast? What is the issue you are dealing with? I have Toast 10, 11, 12, 14 installed concurrently on my system and all is well.
