iMac screen goes black

Hello everyone!

Screen of my iMac is absolutely randomly fading to black (sometimes with glitches), but system continues to works fine. It’s happens even in recovery mode (Command-R at chimes sound) but worse than in usual state. Past about 10-20 seconds in recovery mode screens goes black.

Is it software issue or hardware?

P.S. Screen doesn’t goes black when Windows is running under Bootcamp as well.

Impossible to tell for sure, however please post an EtreCheckreport of your system. We can then look for obvious issues. Please click the link, download the app and run the report. Once you have the report, please copy and paste it to your reply to this post.

If you would like more info on what EtreCheck is, simply click the link and you will find a description of the app.

I see 2 major problems with your system, first is you have CleanMyMac3] installed on your computer. This is considered malware and should be uninstalled immediately using the developers instructions.

Next is you use a torrent site, likely for downloading software. This is dangerous because you can also be downloading attached malware . If you are using the torrent to download software that you did not pay for, I recommend that you not do this. At the very least it is dangerous.
