I movie for Iphone 6 saving problem!

I occasinally make videos using the imovie on my iphone 6 and have always found it very simple and straight forward. Today, my phone, like normal claimed its memory was full (this is a different issue!) so before I could save my imovie I had to remove all the videos on my device. I moved these onto my laptop so that they weren't actually lost and then attempted to save the imovie. It turns out that you can not save the imovie unless the clips are still in your phone. I pressumed seeing as imovie expanded memory wise it was saving them onto the app itself. This wasn't a problem as i'd moved them onto my laptop and after uploading them to itunes and moving them back onto my phone imovie is now saying it can't find the clips. What do i do? I've spent the last four hours editing this video so really do not want to have to start again! any help would be much appreciated!
