A rogue contacts group called "All iPhone"?

Somewhere along the line an upgrade into iOS 9.x (and subsequent developer releases), a group called "All iPhone" appeared on my iPhone and became the default group for new entries. I put about 20 or 30 entries in there before I realized what was going on. I figured out how to turn it off as the default location, but now I can't figure out how to get those entries into the iCloud group so I can see them on my Mac and iPad.

Any idea how I can do this? That "All iPhone" group isn't visible anywhere but on my iPhone, and there's no way I know of to move contacts between groups on the iPhone.

Thanks!

Steve

Hello parkerpress,
I understand that you are seeing contact that are not stored in iCloud and are wanting to get them there. That is something that I can help you out with.
This can be easily accomplish by simply turning off iCloud contacts, keeping the contact on your iPhone and then turning Contact back on to have them merge with iCloud. Take a look at the steps outlined below for more details.

Turn off iCloud Contacts and turn it back on

  1. Tap Settings > iCloud.
  2. Turn off Contacts.
  3. You can choose Delete from My [device] if your data exists on icloud.com/contacts and one or more of your devices. Otherwise, choose Keep on My [device].
  4. Wait a few minutes, then turn Contacts back on.

Take care
