my exercise goal is counting nothing

I walk to a bus each morning with a backpack about 3 minutes from my apartment and then do the same later in the day; minus a few walks up stairs i do nothing strenuous until my nighttime workout and the exercise goal says i reach the goal before i even get home to my apartment. in other words, before i even get on the treadmill it says i reached my goal. anyone?

Hi Jeremy

To credit progress towards your Exercise goal, the Activity app aims to identify activity that equals or exceeds the intensity of a brisk walk. When you are not using the Workout app, the watch relies on your arm motion (measured by the accelerometer) to track this, so allow your arm to swing naturally as you walk (or run).

If your general daily activity merits it, you can therefore achieve your Exercise goal before any workouts are taken into account.

To help improve the accuracy of estimations, check that your personal information is accurate:

- On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch tab > Health > Edit - tap and adjust items, then tap on Done.

Calibrating your watch will also help to improve the accuracy of various estimations (including Exercise credit) made by the Activity app and Workout app. Instructions for how to calibrate your watch are available via the link below.
