aperture opens by itself?

Been using aperture for years. Now for some reason Aperture opens without my doing anything to open the app. I even moved all Aperture Libraries off my HD on the laptop. Still -- all of a sudden Aperture is open. So made a zero picture library, same thing.

I have been switching to Lightroom and moving photos from Aperture to LR. But I cannot understand how the program could just start by itself. The iCloud photo library and photo stream is not checked in system prefs.

Any thoughts? I would appreciate it.
