Q: Apple music charged 3 times in one month

Hello,

I'm an Apple Music customer since it began offering it's services. After the trial period, my credit card was charged twice on the same month, and after that 3 times on the same month (2 months with triple charge on credit card). I contacted the bank and they told me it was an Apple issue. I decided to cancel automatic charge from my credit card so this won't happen again.

I wrote support twice and got no answer at all.

What can I do to solve this problem? Getting a refund for those extra charges and to be sure this won't happen again if I decide to insert my credit card info again for automatic charge.

Thanks in advance.

Are you 100% sure all these charges were for Apple Music?

Please check your purchase history: See your purchase history in the iTunes Store on a Mac or PC - Apple Support
Here you can see how often you were charged for Apple Music.

It's also likely that it was a credit card authorization and not an actual charge. Check this article on more info: About payment card authorization holds in the iTunes Store - Apple Support

Don't worry, credit card holds aren't actual charges. Also, do you maybe have a second account where you also use Apple Music? Or does someone in your family also use your credit card for Apple Music?

In any case, I would contact iTunes store on the phone: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204169

In this article, you can find the phone number. They will verify your identity and can help you explain the charges.

Contact your credit card provider, ask them to take the money back

I would advise against doing that. This could lead to a chargeback which could lead to your account being disabled.

So what do you suggest (a perfectly legal chargeback not being good enough) any suggestions as to how the OP can get HIS money back.

It's generally advisable to read before you post, I wrote a detailed answer to the original poster, feel free to check it out

If you can't be bothered to repeat it I will ignore it.

OP, contact your credit card provider and insist on a refund, it is your legal right to do so. (assuming that you never received the goods or services)

It would be very easy to scroll up, but I'll copy/paste it for you:

OP: I would advise to contact the iTunes Store support by mail or phone to avoid a chargeback. They will be the ones to check a refund for you (if possible). If you were charged mistakenly, they can help you, too.

I see nothing there that tells the OP how to get his money back, (and that is what he wants to do), merely a lot of speculative 'advice'

It's not your money, let the person who suffered the loss decide.

PS: I did not just scroll up because the post does not answer the question, then or now.

As I see it, you are not participating in a healthy discourse, you are simply promoting yourself. You are right, the original poster can decide for himself what he wants to do, but I am not sure if you are actually trying to help him or help disprove me.

"suffer" and "loss" are words loaded very much with negativity. I think it can be easily explained consulting reportaproblem, the purchase history and iTunes on the phone, who can give him more information than we do have at hand, and inform him about the refund options. Also, bills in iTunes are summarized, so there is no way for us to know if all these charges were actually for Apple Music or other purchases, too.

P.S.: Someone who works in iTunes Store support

Thanks for your advice, just checked my account and had only one charge per month, so seems like many credit card authorizations for Apple Music membership were also going on the same month.

Just solved the problem, it was just many credit card authorizations that appeared as charges. Thanks anyway.

Did the credit provider tell you that while you were calling them?
