RoadRunner email

I have an iPhone 6s and an iPad Air 2. I have both synced to my PC desktop. New problems -- (1) suddenly my email messages disappear once they are read the the devices auto-lock! (2) only 6 or 7 emails are visible! Before, I could see all my emails for the previous month. I have it set to delete email after one month (only because it won't work at all if i try to set it to archive deleted email -- which i would prefer). Old Problem--I do not have options to set contacts and calendar. I only these options with iCloud. I hope someone can help. I have spend HOURS with telephone support and no one has been able to help me.
