Q: How do you attach a "job action" to a droplet? The menu is there…

This has been discussed before but I couldn't find a recent conversation that pertained to the latest version…

Compressor 4.2.1, OS X 10.11.2

As previously noted, when saving an SETTING as a DROPLET, there doesn't seem to be a way to attach a JOB ACTION to it. You can only add a JOB ACTION in the Compressor interface itself.

Yet when you drop a file on the droplet you see a JOB ACTION menu… it's just not available.

So how do you get a JOB ACTION to show up there?

Thanks,

Take one of the built-in presets that includes a job action (like Publish to Vimeo) and duplicate it. Rename it. In the Inspector > Description > Action, select the action from those on the list. In the Settings list, open the disclosure triangle to reveal the A/V settings and in the Inspector make any adjustments you need. When done, in the Settings list, control click > Save as Droplet.

Aha, I see, you have to select the thing with the curved arrow… THAT is where the action part is. Confusing UI… great answer. Thanks!
