Q: apple 4s is not able to backup on icloud since september 2015

Hi Friends,

 

Have been facing a unique problem of backing up since I upgraded to 9.x, prior to that with the 8.x version all was well.

It's been over 4 months ( September 2015 ) since the last iCloud Backup has actually worked.

 

Any Ideas/ Suggestion....

    Do you have sufficient space in iCloud storage? Have you tried logging out of iCloud on the phone and then logging back in? Do you have a current backup of the device in iCloud? Except for a manual backup, an automatic backup will only occur when the device is locked, connected to Wi-Fi and connected to power, and iCloud backup is activated.

     

    Have you attempted any other troubleshooting? Have you checked iTunes to make sure that iCloud backup is checked. What version of iTunes are you using, since the latest iOS requires the latest version of iTunes, 12.3.2.

     

    What computer OS are you using?

    Hi Chris,

     

    Tks for ur response and below are my replies to ur queries/ suggestions -

     

    Yes, there is enough space @ the iCloud storage, it is 4.99 GB.

    Yes, logged off and logged on the iCloud on the phone.

    I don't have a backup on the iCloud and tried backing up using difft. Wi-Fi connections.

    I'm using iTunes 12.3.2.35 and have checked all possible settings.

    The OS I'm using is Win 7 32 bit with 3 GB RAM if that helps too.

    No security software that would affect the backup on iCloud.

     

    It all started only after upgrading the iPhone OS to 9.x, with 8.x it worked absolutely fine.

     

    Appreciate ur inputs.

    I find it strange that you are using 32-bit on Windows 7, but that is alright.

     

    Have you attempted a manual backup?
    I'm guessing that when you said you checked all possible settings in iTunes, that includes it not showing "This Computer" for the backup.

    Have you attempted a backup with iTunes instead of iCloud, and does that work?

    You are keeping the phone plugged in at night and connected to your Wi-Fi for backup purposes, and the phone is locked as well?

     

    Have you taken a look at the troubleshooting steps in this support document to try and complete the backup? Try this and report back. Get help backing up your device in iCloud - Apple Support
