Why does my screen showgrey and won't boot up after I downloaded El Capitan?

Did you install the OS X?
If you didn't:
Finder > Applications > Installer OS X El Capitan.app
Double click it.
I can't get passed the grey screen.
What is the EXACT model/year of you MBP?

I am not sure. It is a MacBook Pro bought August of 2006. It has been a jewel up until now.
Iseems as if the keyboard isn't working, It will not take any commands.

You have a mid 2009 15" MBP.
Start with SMC and NVRAM resets:
