What is CNSSelectorAgent.app? I get a message when I open Safari . . . . "Do I want to deny incoming messages?"

Q: When I open Safari I get a message, do I want to deny . . . . CNSSelectorAgent.app
What is "CNSSelectorAgent.app" it is asking me to accept incoming network connections. This sound dangerous to me. Why would have this appeared? What should i do?
This is an app inside Canon IJ Network Scanner Selector EX, part of the software that got installed with my multifunction printer/scanner/fax.
