Green pictures when I import from Photos

Need some help here. I'm importing about 125 pictures from Photos to work on a slideshow project. I number of them are displaying a green screen in the project library and the viewer. But they are displaying accurately in the thumbnail in the timeline, but when I put the playhead over the thumbnail, I get a green screen again.

In photos, the picture displays correctly. I can't figure out what's going on. If I try to export the project, the export fails. I have the exact same issue if I import the pictures in to iMovie.

I'm using a 2011 MacBook Air, 4GB Ram and 480gb HD. Running El Capitan.

WWhat's the format and resolution of the images? Your graphics capabilities probably can't sustain the media.

What Tom said. As a test try resizing a couple of your stills to a smaller size. (That can be done in Preview or a photo editor). See whether those resized stills display correctly.

looks like there's a final cut pro 10.2.3 update today (although some people aren't seeing it yet). when you can, try again with that
