Q: Retrieval of PDFs

I erroneously deleted some PDFs from my iPad mini - in iBooks. Is there a "trash bin" where they may stI'll be sitting, or have I totally lost them?

My operating system is iOS 9.2

    Hi Dumbo!,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

From your post, I understand that some PDFs may have been accidentally deleted from iBooks on your iPad and now you would like to recover them. You may have a couple of different options for recovering these PDFs.

If you still have access to the original PDFs either on your computer or an email, you can add those back to iBooks as described in the following article.

Use iBooks with PDF documents on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

If you no longer have access to the original files, you can try to restore these files from a backup of your iPad.

Restore your device from an iCloud or iTunes backup - Apple Support

    Best!

No, there isn't a trashcan in iBooks to recover them from.

And they aren't including in a device's backup, neither iTunes nor iCloud. An iTunes restore would look to pick them up from the Books section of your iTunes library (iBooks app if using a Mac with it on it) - if you have them on your computer you could just sync them back instead of restoring. An iCloud restore won't be able to put them back as they are not stored in the cloud
