Q: Screen not dimming?

I think this has been a problem since iOS 9, when I used to plug my phone into the dock to listen to radio/podcasts at night with the screen unlocked after a few minutes the screen would dim which I prefer. Now this doesn't happen, I guess it must be because it connected to a power supply because when the phone isn't plugged into anything then I do get the desired effect of the screen dimming.

Is this a new thing or just a software bug and does anyone now a fix?

    Hi RedGT,

The resource below explains how to adjust the Auto-Brightness settings for your iPhone to your preference.

Change the brightness setting on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

    To personalize Auto-Brightness:

    1. Tap Settings > Display & Brightness and turn on Auto-Brightness. You might notice that the brightness slider moves according to the current lighting conditions.
    2. Adjust the slider to set the Auto-Brightness yourself—and Auto-Brightness will pick future brightness settings based on that.

If Auto-Brightness isn’t working as expected, you can reset it by turning it off and then on again. Go to Settings > Display & Brightness and tap Auto-Brightness.

    Take care,

There's no problem with the brightness screen settings, except when the phone is plugged into a power source then the phone behaves differently.
