Alchemy issue after updating Logic Pro X and Mainstage

I updated to Logic Pro X 10.2.1 and MainStage 3.2.3 on January 20th, and new content was downloaded automatically when I went into MainStage the first time.

An hour ago, I started working with a file in Garageband 10.1.0, by creating a new software instrument track. I decided to browse some presets, so I looked at Synthesizer -> Classics -> 80s Starlight, which loaded fine. When I arrowed down to "Analog Bubbles', I got an error panel with a big exclamation mark off to the side, entitled "Alchemy". The text in the error message says, "The preset you are attempting to load was created with a newer version of Alchemy than you have installed, so it cannot be loaded."

Kind of peculiar, since I would think I have the absolute latest version of Alchemy!

There are other presets that produce the error panel.

What should I do?

Thanks to anyone who tries to help!

I am having the same problem. It occurred directly after I installed the Logic Pro X update.

The GarageBand 10.1 application bundle contains a local copy of the Alchemy framework. If you control click GarageBand 10.1 and select Show Package Contents, you'll see:

/Applications/GarageBand.app/Contents/Frameworks/MAAlchemy.framework/Versions/A/ MAAlchemy

The framework is from June 6,2015.

The framework in Logic Pro X

/Applications/Logic Pro X.app/Contents/Frameworks/MAAlchemy.framework/Versions/A/MAAlchemy

has a newer date: January 19, 2016

We need an update for GarageBand 10.1 with the newer version of Alchemy.

The System Integrity protection in El Capitan prevents us from transplanting the framework from the Logic bundle to the GarageBand bundle.

I tried it nevertheless in a copy of GarageBand, but GarageBand 10 crashes immediately, if I replace the outdated copy in GarageBand by the Logic version.

Use the feedback form to send a bug report, so we will see an GarageBand 10 update asap.
