Q: Air Play doesn't stay connected to selected device, but reverts to source device

On both my iPad and iPhone when I select Airplay and the device (Apple TV Living Room) and start the video I want to see, Airplay reverts back to the iPad or iPhone as viewing device and won't play on Apple TV device I've selected.

iPad Air, iOS 9.2.1

Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.

    1. Check AirPlay is turned on on the Apple TV (turn it off and on if it already is)
    2. Check that both devices are on the same network (Settings > Wifi, on the mobile device and Settings > General > Network, on the Apple TV).
    3. Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
    4. Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
    5. Restart your router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
    6. Restart your mobile device.

I have had the same issue for months and was getting increasing frustrated. I was messing about the settings on Apple TV and as soon as I switched conference room display to Off, my screen mirroring came back on. I don't understand why this would affect it but it worked.

Since I update iOS and Os el capitan yesterday, airplay from all my devices doesn't work anymore. @jillG: witch menu is that: conference room? on apple tv?

Can anybody tell me why it doesn't work anymore. Network is the same etc. all mr. Winston Churchill wrote is good. It has something to do with the latest updates i think. Anyway, I've already had problems with i movie theater on apple tv (cannot handle more than 50 movies???!) so i'm getting a little disapointing in Apple this way. They aren't the always works company anymore!! By the way, i have an apple TV 4th generation
