Jan 23, 2016 7:49 AM in response to Mal.Ciaby GeeD,Lauch App Store and select Purchased. Sign in with your Apple ID that you used when setting up the new computer. You should see iMovie on the list with a button to download.

Jan 23, 2016 9:50 AM in response to GeeDby Mal.Cia,Hi GeeD,
Thank you for your quick response.
There's no iMovie in the Purchased page. Is that because it was upgraded using a different Apple ID?
Cheers,
Mal

Feb 20, 2016 6:56 PM in response to GeeDby Mal.Cia,The iMovie came together with Mac OS X.
When upgrading, I didn't use the admin account, instead I used my wife's Apple ID. As a result, the program was registered to my wife's Apple ID.
Is there anything I can do to re-install the program under the administrative account's Apple ID?
Thanks,
Mal

The computer administrator account is local to the computer and nothing to do with Apple IDs. Apple IDs are personal. When the computer is first set up one associates it with an Apple ID. This is the Apple ID to which the software is registered. It is possible that imovie is hidden in the Purchased tab - see: Hide and unhide purchases in the Mac App Store - Apple Support
for how to deal with this.
