Q: Question mark when booting Macbook 1185
So here is my issue...
I have a macbook 1185 (core 2 duo)
1GB Ram, 120gb hard drive
I have tried endlessly to install a newer version of OS X (Mavericks and higher)
in order to run programs that we not compatible with my version (mainly Sketch)
So i decided enough was enough and went and removed the hard drive, plugged it on my more recent mac,
wiped the drive and installed OS X El Capitan on it using Disk Maker X 5
it ran fine on my current macbook pro 2013 which is obviously compatible with el capitan.
i unplugged the drive and put it back into my older macbook
All i get is a grey screen and a question mark with a folder behind it.
I cannot boot the repair screen (command + R)
May it be because i have only 1 gb ram? (i ordered 4gb ram to install)
or is it because its simply not compatible?
Does anyone have any answers or any other ways i can get at least mavericks onto my old macbook.
Thank you
MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6.8)
