convert mp3 to any youtube file on Mac OSX 6 8

Hi,

I have a Mac OS X 6 8 and would like to convert some mp3s to any format for youtube (mp4, mpeg4, MOV. etc) I have tried seven different versions from online searches and non have worked. Do I have to pay for the ones that work? It's not really worth me buying iMovie as I only want to do this a few times, is there a simple solution that I am unaware of?
