iTunes Playback Issues - Video Freezing

My apologies if I'm posting in the wrong section.

I’m running itunes 12.3.2 on a Late 2013 iMac and video playback from itunes store purchased media is randomly freezing every time I view it. The video will play, stop, freeze, and playback controls will not work. To get it to play I have to manually skip forward with the slider, however this only works for a few minutes and the video will randomly freeze again. What gives? Is there some setting that needs to be changed? Internet speeds are fantastic so I know it’s not that. Anyone have any ideas?
