I'm having problems trying to make a LaserWriter Select (a 360 most probably, but im not sure) work with windows xp; when I try to print a testing text I get the following message:
ERROR: undefined
OFFENDING COMMAND: rectfill
STACK:
/rf
Any ideas about what's wrong and what can I do to solve it?
There are several other printers in the LaserWriter Select family. The laserWriter Select 360 is a postscript level 2 printer, but the LaserWriter Select 310 is only Postscript level 1, and the laserWriter select 300 is a QuickDraw printer, and will choke on any postscript.
Actually no, i'm not its owner, and I can't find the manual anywhere. I guessed its a 360 because someone else has been fighting with it before me, with no success as well, and he thought to be that model.
Also.. i didn't manage to find any driver for a 300 or 310 to try them out.
How can I know what model is it? outside its only name is "laser writer select" and I have no docs...
They all say "LaserWriter Select" on the front, but if you check the metal plate where the cables plug in (that is the end of the Controller board) it should say "LaserWriter Select 360" or "LaserWriter Select 310" or "LaserWriter Select 300".
It's a 310, I just had to find the right drivers.. but I was misleaded as the previous guy trying to make it work thought it was a 360...
It's not actually going to be very used, but it looked nice to me, and having 3 full toners for waste... it seemed quite a pity not to try to make it work.
Those toner cartidges are hard to find. If you must have a 360 instead of a 310, find someone with an older Mac that does not need Postscript level 2. The 310 at least handles PS level 1.
