Sorting events by date in FCP X

I have a lot of events in my library, and I would like these to be sorted by date. Most of them sort correctly when choosing "Sort events by -> date", but some of them don´t. For instance, the event "Summer 2010" appears after the event "Christmas 2010" even though Content Created are correct in all the clips in both events. Any ideas?

All the creation dates in FCP are from 2010. But when I changed the creation dates in FCP, I got a message saying that the underlying files couldn´t be changed. So I guess the original files could have creation dates from 2008. But shouldn´t FCP sort by creation dates in FCP, and not the underlying files? I am 100 % sure that FCP shows creation dates from 2010 in all the clips in this event.

Btw, any ideas why I get the message saying that the underlying files can´t be changed when I try to change the creation date in FCP?

The files on the hard drive have the correct Creation Date. I have used "A better finder attributes" to change these.

The files were imported from a camera, and I think they were imported on november 6, 2014. When I imported, I think the creation dates and the modification dates were set to the date the import happened. When I changed the creation dates later, I got an error message saying that some of the underlying data could not be changed.

Even though I have changed the creation dates i both FCP and using "A better Finder attributes", for some reason FCP still uses the date the import happened! What can I do about this error message? I want the events to be sorted by creation date, not the date the import happened.

NNothing you can do. It sounds like the application you used altered the metadata on the file in a way that wasn't fixable. I don't know why FCP used the import date as the creation date, but that may have to do with how the media was imported and what the device was. When was the creation date modified by this app? After the file imported? I'm surprised FCP recognized the file after it was modified in the Finder.

The clips were copied from the cameras memory card to Finder. I think the creation date was messed up in that process. When I later imported the clips from Finder to FCP, this creation date was used. But as I said, I have changed the creation dates after this, both the original files in Finder and in FCP. But FCP doesn t seem to recognize this.
