Q: Why doesnt my password work when I try to manage my itunes account?


My problem arose when I tried to sign in on my windows desk top. My password which I know very well and used prior to this occasion would not allow me access. I tried my iPhone as well and got the same error message that 'the password used was not correct' . How do I go about rectifying this  without having to keep changing my password weekly?

iPhone 5s, iOS 9.2, I do have problems with iOS9.2

    If iTunes/iCloud tells you that the password is incorrect on different devices/platforms then you are either typing it incorrectly or don't know it.  It's that simple.  The only other answer is that someone else knows your password and is changing it and also has access to your email account and is deleting the notifications that are sent every time you change an AppleID password.

     

    I would suggest that you visit the following web page and make sure that you can login successfully.

     

    https://appleid.apple.com/

     

    If you can login to that website, then you know the password.  Test it our by being very careful to use the correct capitalization when entering the password on iOS devices, and, avoiding using the numeric keypad when using a Windows keyboard.

     

    If you are not able to login to that website then you do not know the password and need to follow the reset password link to reset your password and then test again.
