Midi Feedback Loop - Will Pay ££$$

Hey Guys

So i bought a Roland JDXI external Synth a couple of months back, its hooked up to my DAW Via 2 midi cables and 2 audio L R cables.

Each time i go to load an audio track or external track and select the outputs the Synth is hooked up to (1/2) I get a Midi feedback loop, which is like a distorted loop and can not control the synth so it is not a note stuck on the unit itself.

I have rang Roland, reset all drivers and such, and they said i need to make a new environment just for the external itself and not have all the presets like the electro piano Logic pro x suggests when you load such a track.

Its driving me mad and i really want to use the unit.

Any ideas how i can stop this loop will be highly appreciated too.

Also the loop occurs when the USB is plugged in.

Willing to pay $$££ to whoever solves the issue.

Thanks

Roland JDXI
Soundcard - Komplete audio 6

DAW - Logic pro x

System - Mac 10.9.5

MacBook, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1), Logic Pro x

Check the JDXI manual and see if it has a MIDI Thru function, if so you need to disable it.

The other possibility is a Control Surface problem, in the upper left Logic menu, go to Preferences/Control Surfaces and select "Bypass All Control Surfaces". (At least that's where it is on Logic 9)

Hi Ben,

You said something odd in an earlier post, quote: "Each time i go to load an audio track or external track and select the outputs the Synth is hooked up to (1/2) I get a Midi feedback loop, which is like a distorted loop and can not control the synth so it is not a note stuck on the unit itself."

It sounds to me like you're speaking of an Audio track (1/2), I can't tell if you're getting an audio loop from the JD's Vocoder/Mic or if it's an actual MIDI loop which doesn't usually sound like that.

Just looked at the manual... The JDXi has a SOFT THRU if it is enabled.... Disable it.

Check that now and post back.
