Error Installing icloud & itunes on Win10

I can't seem to install iCloud or iTunes on my Windows 10. I've read all the troubleshooting and tried all of the suggestions I've found, but have had no success. The error message is:

There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.

It's just my home/personal computer so I have no support personnel or package vendor to contact. I'm at a loss as to what to do next (and am also new to using an iPhone, so maybe I'm just confused 😕) and I would sincerely appreciate any guidance anyone can give me.

Check out the contents of this ASC User provided tip. Turingtest2 has compiled most of the best information regarding issues with iTunes and Windows. Read through the entire document first, and then it should help you with finding a solution. Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates

It may require you to remove your current installation of iTunes, but all that is explained there as well. I would bookmark that document, it is the greatest resource for problems with Windows and iTunes.

That's where I'm at now. I'd already tried #1, am on to #2 - just about to reboot, but made sure to save the link to that page first - thanks so much, it looks like a wealth of information! Fingers crossed this works!

Okay, just make sure you do only what is needed. Not a bad idea to glance at the entire document before you make a decision on what to do. If you still have trouble, I can work on getting in touch with tt2 and ask him to take a look at the post personally. Good luck.
