Jan 23, 2016 9:46 PM in response to DTadrosby K Shaffer,Independent authorized Apple service and repair providers could repair older models.
As these products age the availability of new old stock replacement parts will be more
difficult to obtain. A refurbished or repaired logic board may be available for less cost.
Have you looked to find independent service providers and repair companies nearer you?

Some specialize in logic board repair and other kinds of restoration; of those, some
also can provide parts sent out to those who know how to repair the computer. For a
complete service most of these would probably need to see and test the computer in
order to complete a diagnostic and estimate.
Companies such as wegenermedia.com in the southeastern US can do logic board repair
and restore the computer; while a computer is in the shop for inspection, diagnostic tests
along with estimates, any other worn or damaged parts could be addressed; while the
computer is apart for the repair, labor charges are usually less, because it is already apart.
From my discussions with a few of these repair companies, they usually prefer to have a
complete computer in their shop (but the cost is more, if they take in apart) so it can be
tested and the correct diagnostic performed. The task may be more than one assumed
part, so the entire machine is best tested and considered instead of swapping parts over
a long distance. There may be a quality repair facility in locations such as Mexico, among
other locations. Several shops exist in California and other states, that could do the job.
By mail or shipper (fedex, etc) wegenermedia has good reputation as a Mac specialist.

Another one to check, as they have parts and an identification lookup on their site, at
powerbookmedic.com. Lookup your macbook model by serial number, note parts listed.

If the computer is a macbook (13-inch) 2006 to 2010, a white model or the single metal one
of this sequence, it can be identified more closely using information here:

There are several companies who can repair these older computers; the need to have
a source of known good parts from working computers, or new-old-stock parts for that
model; or for a company to be able to repair the logic board and resolder parts that may
have come loose over time, are general things that can be done to restore functionality.
You could probably purchase a repaired white early MacBook 2006-2010 era model
for about the cost of the repairs; or a good working example, depending on the location
and the local market demand for certain models; at least in the US where newer ones
are replacing the older. There is a fairy good market even here for older Macs.
Independent authorized service providers can look into other sources for new old stock
parts and also investigate other options to restore outdated or obsoleted computers. Yet
even though they are still repairable, you may find some estimates exceed their value.
In any event...
Good luck & happy computing!

Jan 25, 2016 12:51 PM in response to DTadrosby MatiasSP,A new logic board is really rare and expensive here in Brazil. Search mercadolivre for used parts, or even an old MacBook you can take parts from. Independent Mac technicians may have some spare parts.
eBay is a good place too, I bought an used top case there, but it wasn't fully functional. Be ready for taxes then.
