Q: iTunes sign-in issues

I am attempting to purchase music on iTunes.   I forgot my password and was prompted to change it.  I followed the process and changed my password.  After changing my password I again attempted to purchase a song.   I selected a song and the "sign in required" modal displayed.  I entered the new password and clicked buy.  For an instant I saw the "accessing iTunes store" message display, however, the "sign in required" message displayed again.  It did not include an error message.

To ensure I was remembering the new password correctly I navigated to the Apple web site, and clicked on "Sign in" link.  I was able to successfully sign in to my Apple account at store.apple.com.

I am attempting to MAKE A PURCHASE on iTunes, but I am unable to. NOTE:  When I totally sign out of iTunes, I am able to sign back in.  I can view my music library and play lists, HOWEVER, if I attempt to access any personal information like my Wish list, account info, etc. I am prompted to enter my password AGAIN.  It is at this time when I am unsuccessful getting beyond the "Sign in required" modal.

I have confirmed that I'm using the latest version of iTunes.  I've restarted my Mac several times.  I do not want to change my password yet again.  Appreciate any information or guidance.

Thanks.

    Hi slunny,

Besides updating your password, the other thing I would try to address the issue of not being able to make a purchase, is to check the billing information for your Apple ID.  The link below explains how to do this.  Even if your information hasn't changed, I would still suggest reviewing the information and confirming the billing address is the same one your bank uses.   You will need to re-enter your credit card's expiration date and security (CVV) code.  Be sure to click Done  and then exit.  Test by downloading a free app or song.  Does this resolve your issue?

Change or remove your Apple ID payment information

    Take care,
