Q: apps taking up so much storage

I have macbook air 128gb, it stated here, my apps are taking up 109gb of storage, but then it tells me that I have 87gb of free storage. If my apps is taking 109gb, then I should only have like less than 20gb of free space, so it says I have 87.65gb of free storage left?

And why is my apps taking so much space? I only have vlc, spotify, google drive, some printer apps and ms office, and pre-installed apps. So, I don't really get it, how can it space up the storage?

I have done the spotlight re index folder thingy.

Please somebody help me.
