Q: Not Just Another Find My iPhone Activation Lock Question

I am the original owner and the original person who purchased this iPhone 4S (record can be found with Apple). To make the long story short, the iCloud ID was changed by someone and I can't find that person.  Is there a way I can unlock the phone without the ID and Password or this phone becomes target practice at my local shooting range?  I don't have the email address for requested iCloud ID anymore because I thought erasing the iPhone was good idea at the time, I didn't know about the activation lock.  I tried to call Apple Support, but since the phone is locked out, I can't get the IMEI number.  Thanks for any feedback.

Take it and its purchase receipt to a physical Apple Store.

I tried to call Apple Support

but you did not succeed in calling them?

but since the phone is locked out, I can't get the IMEI number.

You don't need the IMEI number.

As suggested, take it to an Apple store with original purchase receipt
