Q: I need help with FaceTime,

my FaceTime opens BUT it won't let me sign in to use it, when I got the iPad mini at xmas 2015 facetime worked (I am having the same thing happen to messages) i have iOS 9.2.1. Please help me, THANKS

A:

You sign into FaceTime and messages in the settings. Settings>FaceTime>On, then sign in with your Apple ID. If that isn't working, but FaceTime ISturned on, turn FaceTime off, restart the device and then go back to Settings>FaceTime>On. Then sign in again.

Describe exactly what you mean by this statement. Are you signed into Factime and Messages in the settings? Have you tried these steps?
If you get an error when trying to activate iMessage or FaceTime - Apple Support
