Q: My iPod keeps restarting when I connect it to iTunes

I have a 2nd generation iPod touch of iOS 4.2, and I wanted to add some more music onto my iPod today, so I connected it to iTunes. It was working perfectly fine before I connected it to iTunes, and then it restarted. I thought it was normal at first, but every single time I connected it to iTunes it restarted.

I've never had an issue with it before and it works fine after I disconnect it to iTunes, and after it finishes restarting.

Does this mean I can never use iTunes on my iPod, or is there a bigger issue?

Please help! Thanks in advanced.

Does this happen when connected to another computer?
Have you tried

Thank you for responding!
It has never happened when I connected to another computer, I actually tried connecting to iTunes through the app on my iPod and it restarted again.
It currently still isnt working, and has been restarting all night.
I also have tried the things on the links, but they haven't helped
