imessage not registering.

imessage not registering.

Hi,

Previously I used my hotmail id to set up my apple id but my imessage never worked so I assumed it was because of the email id hence i changed it.

Now I have an icloud account under the doman of icloud.com.

i message still does not work

when i try to send a text it asks me to sign in even though i am signed in.

Face time works perfectly fine but not imessage.

Please help..

By any chance do you use 2 step verification, you may need to log in with an app specific password if you do.

Hey,

I do not use the 2 step verification.

Haven't set my account to that yet.

It just doesn't work.

I tried deleting the account and re-adding it inside, changing email ids. Nothing.

OK, it's a bit hard to see those screenshots, by the way.

Have you signed into iCloud at system preferences with that ID.

Yes I have. Do you need an enlarged version of the picture?It basically just shows I am signed inside iMessage but the text doesn't go through because it is requesting me to sign in again.

Just a thought, are you using the email address.

Yes, I am. It's the same email id and account everywhere.

I agree mine has bits missing, thats what I can't figure out.

It's only on my mac though my other devices (iPod and iPad) work perfectly fine with the account..

Apart from the inactive part, despite the account being enabled. I do not know how to work this out.
