Have sold a laptop and got a message saying they cannot associate the laptop with their account as it still connected to mine. Have checked account and its not there so cant remove it

Essentially the new owner must erase the HDD and reinstall the original OSX. That will delete your ID, connect the MBP to the new owners ID and allow them to create their own App store account.
