Desk mount 20 inch iMac

HI all.

I Have a 20 inch aluminium 2008 model iMac and I'd like to mount it to my desktop to create more space. I'm aware that this would not normally be possible due to the work involved in getting to the iMac stand fitmen, however I have taken my iMac apart in order to remove the stock stand in the past.

My question is will a visa mount adapter fit my iMac to desk mount it?

Thank you

Well, unfortunately Apple does not make that available on all iMac models. The ones it doesn't, imacmount offers its alternative.

Yes, some of the models look like they might fit VESA, and Apple has its own VESA adapter for those models. For everything else there is iMacmount.

If you are unhappy with the situation, perhaps a Mac Mini or Mac Pro is a better solution for you, as then all your displays can be known VESA compatible displays.

I'm back again

After looking at what little options there are to vesa mount a 20 inch iMac, i decided to try and do it with a adapter that was designed for the larger screens being 24 & 27 inch.

I opened my iMac up took out the motherboard and undone and removed the heavy stand it came with, at this stage I realised that some of the holes on the adapter don't line up with the ones on the clutch of the iMac, however although a little of centre I managed to screw enough of the scores in tight enough to hold the vesa adapter securely.

I purchased a desk mount stand and the final result is as pictured.User uploaded file
