Q: Updating new IOS and there was an error

i had plugged my iphone 5 to my computer to update the new ios 9.2 system and for some reason there were errors and i had to send my phone back to factory settings. i clicked update and now it's stuck with the apple logo and some sort of grey loading bar which hasnt moved for at least 3 hours. I am unable to switch off my iphone nor will it respond. i am plugging my iphone to the computer, earlier on it was detected, now it isnt. My computer shows no sign of my iphone 5. Please Help!!!! Thanks!!!

    Hi Lockwoodmythix,

    Sorry to hear you are having issues with the iOS update.  I would recommend that you first charge your iPhone using the Apple adapter and an electrical outlet.  Then place the phone in recovery mode again and choose Restore instead of Update.  

    If you can‘t update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

    In these situations, you might need to use recovery mode to restore your device:

    • iTunes doesn't recognize your device or says it's in recovery mode.
    • You see the Apple logo on your screen for several minutes with no progress bar.
    • You see the Connect to iTunes screen.

    Learn what to do if you see the progress bar on your screen for several minutes.

    Put your device in recovery mode and set it up again

    1. Connect your device to your computer and open iTunes. If you don't have a computer, borrow one from a friend or go to an Apple Retail Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider for help.
    2. While your device is connected, force restart it: Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home button for at least 10 seconds, and don't release when you see the Apple logo. Keep holding until you see the recovery mode screen.


       
    3. When you see the option to Restore or Update, choose Update. iTunes will try to reinstall iOS without erasing your data. Wait while iTunes downloads the software for your device.
      If the download takes more than 15 minutes and your device exits recovery mode, you'll need to repeat these steps and choose Restore instead of Update when you get back to this step.


       
    4. After the Update or Restore completes, set up your device. If you previously backed up your device with iTunes or iCloud and had to restore your device in step 3, you might be able to restore from your backup during setup.
