Q: When I launch iBook, I get an error saying there is not enough room to download a movie.

When I launch iBooks, I get an error saying there is not enough room to download a movie I once purchased.  It slows the opening of iBooks and I don't want to download the movie anyway.  What does a movie have to do with iBooks?  How do I get rid of it and stop it from trying to download this movie?

I'm using an iPad 2 with the latest OS updates installed, and the latest version of iBooks.  This has only recently started happening.  I think it started after installing an update.

iPad 2, iOS 9.2.1

    Hello mike.smith9,

The first thing I would suggest is to check the amount of storage you have used on your iPad, and see if this movie shows up.  If so, you can delete it, and also try to free up some space.

If the movie is not listed on your device because the download was interrupted, now that you have freed up some space, you can finish the download, and then delete the movie from your device.

Take a look at these resources:

Check your storage on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Use your iOS device to check its storage

Tap Settings > General > Storage & iCloud Usage > Manage Storage.

You'll see a list of your apps, and how much storage each one uses. Tap an app for more detailed information about its usage.

Depending on the app, you might be able to delete some of its content, or delete the app and all of its content. If your device is almost full, or you get a Storage Almost Full alert, remove some less-used content.

    Resume interrupted iTunes Store downloads

Restart a download on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

    1. Tap iTunes Store.
    2. On your iPhone or iPod touch, tap More at the bottom of the screen. Then tap Downloads.
      On your iPad, tap Downloads.
    3. If prompted, enter your Apple ID and password.
    4. Tap the blue download arrow next to a paused item to resume the download.

If you can't complete the download on your iOS device, download it in iTunes on your Mac or PC. Then sync it to your iOS device.

You can also transfer purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer.

If you still can't restart your downloads, get more help.

    Take care,
