Mid 2011 Mac Mini with AMD Radeon GPU Failure

Mid 2011 Mac Mini with an AMD Radeon HD 6630M dedicated GPU which is failing causing video glitches and crashes. This is the same problem which affected 2011 MacBook Pros at a very high rate and which Apple eventually offered to cover under a special warranty extension program (see http://www.macrumors.com/2015/02/19/2011-macbook-pro-repair-program-apple/). There are numerous other threads here and elsewhere details GPU issues with the AMD equipped 2011 Mac Minis? When will Apple do the right thing and extend coverage to affected Mac Mini's?

Count me in.

My 2011 Mac mini with discreet GPU is sat on an engineers bench right now after being diagnosed with a faulty GPU.

He says it's down to the crap soldering they now use that tends to fail after 3-4 years.

Basically exactly the same issue as the MBP's suffered but without the repair being offered purely because of the number of machines sold is dwarfed by the number of MBP's sold.
