OK, I figured out how to activate a Noise Gate in GarageBand. Now my next dilemma: Can Noise Gate be applied to only a specific region of a track? If yes, how?
If no (i.e., Noise Gate can only be applied to an entire track), what is another good way to reduce unwanted background clicks, pops and hiss within a specific region of a track? I am not overly familiar with GarageBand, so specific steps would be helpful.

I saved the tweaked Speech Enhancer (and other plugins) setup as a patch-preset
FYI that I found a YouTube video on the use of Speech Enhancer to reduce background noise. But the video applies to an older version of GarageBand. Does anyone know where to find this feature in the current version (10.1.0) of GarageBand?
Am just looking into the same issues with white noise when overlaying recorded voice onto another track.
