Cracked glass repair, will apple wipe my phone during repair in store?

Hi, I just cracked my sceen today and considering the replacement in apple store (which isnt that expensive, considering the replacement parts on ebay for 6s plus screens assembly going for much more). My only condition is that they must not wipe my phone. There is only screen replacement that is needed, I don't see any reason why they should wipe/erase it anyway, but I don't want to risk it and would like to hear some more hands on experience with this service. Was your phone erased when replacing screen? Was there any option not to wipe? Did they wipe your phone anyway even you requesting them not to? I am really looking for 100% assurance.. otherwise I will look for other places where I could get my screen replaced / will do it myself....

Any experience with this would be very appreciated.

BTW if this helps im in UK/Manchester.. if anybody got any local stores experiences.

Apple will not guarantee your data or content on any device they service. They may, or may not, need to reinstall iOS or OSX and this wipe devices or drives. As stated explicitly in the terms of service for any device serviced by Apple, your data is your responsibility, not theirs. They cannot and will not guarantee your data and it is entirely up to you to back up and secure your data prior to needing service.

They may be able to do a repair without touching your data, but then again they may not, so they explicitly make no promises nor guarantees about data once you've turned your device over to them for repairs. Honestly though I know of not one single electronics repair or service company that does anything different. Your data is your responsibility.

just curious if you could tell me how it went? My phone recentky broke and sadly im going through the same issue right now where i couldnt back up my phone in time so i was wondering if they wiped your phone or no?

For what it's worth, the price to have it fixed by Apple is dirt cheap compared to fixing it yourself. Especially when you consider the fact that fixing it yourself will leave you with an unfixable brick the first time you try to update or restore it.

I suspect our OP simply has no backup in hand, and of course cannot make one now, so is hoping to preserve their data. That may work out, or it may not. But there's no way to get the repair and guarantee the data.
