Q: CarPlay not triggering reminders when I enter/leave car

I recently installed a CarPlay head unit in my car. (Kenwood DDX6702S)

My iPhone 6 is not triggering "Getting in the car"/"Getting out of the car" reminders correctly when I connect via Lightning cable.  It seems to work sometimes when I don't plug in, and instead have the phone connect by Bluetooth..

Anybody else having their Reminders properly trigger alerts for getting in/out of their car, when using a radio/system that supports CarPlay?

iPhone 6, iOS 9.2.1

I believe it only triggers when connecting and disconnecting from Bluetooth. At least the one time I got a reminder was connecting to Bluetooth back when I tested in December.  My car supports CarPlay.

This past week I tried and it wasn't working at all with either with Bluetooth or CarPlay.  I tested with a 5s and 6s Plus.

    Hello jtkohl!

I've noticed, in the Reminders App car-location-based Reminders (Getting in the car/Getting out of the car) are working with some bluetooth car receivers, that aren't CarPlay capable! (iPhone 6, iOS 10.0 and iOS 9.3.5)

With my old car receiver Sony MEX BT 3700 U (sold in Germany, since 2009) it worked!

Sadly with my new car receiver Kenwood KDC BT 45 U (2015) it doesn't work! :-(

I think it only works with some special kind of Bluetooth connection or profile (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Bluetooth_profiles).

:-( Has anybody else a clue?

    Greetings from Germany,
    Matthias
