In Bluetooth system preference, enable "Show Bluetooth in menu bar".


Click the Bluetooth icon in the menu bar and select the mouse, keyboard, or trackpad. A box should appear that shows the charge status (in gray).

I seem to recall reading that the charge time is about two hours. If you have exhausted the battery it could well take longer. After the two hour period it should run for about a month anyway so you could take out the charger after 2 hours. But I also recall like statements about using the old MM1 mouse with Apple rechargeable batteries and charging unit. MIne rapidly reduced to about 14 days and now its down to 7 days.
