Q: Logic remote connects to MainStage but not Garageband?

I've tried everything I can find about getting Logic Remote to connect to Garage band and none of it works.

I can get my iPad to connect to MainStage without any issues. The first time I run Logic Remote on with Garageband open

I get the prompt to allow the connection and pair the remote but from there it just times out and I get the message...

"Logic Remote was unable to connect to the selected Mac. If this is the first time you're connecting to Logic Remote, you need to confirm the connection on the selected Mac." I did do this step. I have the latest versions of MainStage and Garageband available as of 1/26/16.

My firewall settings are turned off completely,

I've removed the preference files and rebooted many times.

I get the same issue between two different Macs and on two different networks.

Thanks for any help you may have.

Sounds like you are trying to connect to GB with an iPad Pro or an iPhone (which is not supported)?  From the System Requirements for Logic Remote 1.3:

    System Requirements

    Requires iOS 9.1 or later

iPad support requires Logic Pro X 10.2.1, MainStage v3.2.3, or GarageBand v10.1

iPad Pro support requires Logic Pro X 10.2.1 or MainStage v3.2.3

iPhone support requires Logic Pro X 10.2.1

Note that GarageBand is currently only supported on iPad.  I would expect that will change with the next GarageBand update, but I don't know for sure.

Thanks for this info. I didn't realize these call outs in the supported devices and software versions.

    Thanks.
