Jan 27, 2016 1:46 PM in response to Michael_Colvinby judysings,Hi Michael_Colvin,
When the Apple TV 4 goes to sleep, it should also turn off any connected devices. See the resource below:
Put your Apple TV in sleep mode
You don't need to turn off your Apple TV, because it sleeps or enters standby mode after a period of inactivity. You can also turn on sleep or standby mode manually.
Use Sleep mode or change your preferences
- Apple TV (4th generation): With your Siri Remote or Apple TV Remote,* press and hold the Home button for five seconds. Then Select Sleep Now. You can also go to Settings > Sleep Now.
- Apple TV (3rd generation and earlier): With your Apple Remote (aluminum or white), press and hold Play/Pause for five seconds. You can also go to Settings > Sleep Now.
To change your preferences for Sleep mode, go to Settings > General > Sleep After.
*Apple TV (4th generation) ships with the same remote everywhere. In countries and regions that support Siri, the remote is called Siri Remote. Elsewhere, it’s called Apple TV Remote. Siri works on either remote as long as your Apple TV (4th generation) is set up with a language and country that supports Siri.
