i have an iMac 27" i5 and i have an iMac 21.5" i3
my question is can i use the ram from one iMac to the other iMac? will it fit?
Thanks
Not likely, simply find the specifications for the RAM for each machine. If the specs are not identical the answer is no. If the specs are the same then sure it should work. You can find the specification on OWC's website for iMac RAM which is:
http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/apple/memory/iMac?_ga=1.24758394.1383244622.14538 29464
Once you are on the page, look up each of your iMacs and you will see the RAM specifications for each machine. Once you have that info you can compare and decide.

Jan 26, 2016 9:36 AM in response to Melbronzeby CMCSK,According to Article Install memory in an iMac - Apple Support - "Memory is not user-removable on iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2012), iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2013), and iMac (21.5-inch, Mid 2014) computers. Memory replacement for these computers must be done by an Apple Retail Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider.
• Memory in iMac (21-inch, Late 2015) and iMac (Retina 4K, 21-inch, Late 2015) is not upgradeable."
