Q: Ipad after update, problems with Apps

After updating Ipad to 9.1.2 we have a problem, that every time we go into a App, mails, pictures, etc. , we loose the connection with the App. We go in and just press a command, then we just go out of the App again. We are unable to read mails, see picture etc. Do anyone have a solution for this.

Furthermore the App which is suppose to be updated, will not update

iPad Air, iOS 9.2.1

    Hello abcglad,

If I understand correctly you are able to open your apps, but anything you do in them makes them unresponsive so you have to press the Home button to exit the app, then go back into it for it to work. That sounds to me like a software issue we should be able to solve. I would start by quitting all the running apps on your iPad. Normally you only need to quit the affected app but in this case since it seems to be all of them, I would quit them all.

Force an app to close in iOS

    1. Press the Home button two times quickly. You'll see small previews of your recently used apps.
    2. Swipe left to find the app you want to close.
    3. Swipe up on the app's preview to close it.

When you have done that force the iPad to restart with the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons as outlined in the following article, and test the issue again:

iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting

If the issue persists, backup your device to iTunes, then restore it as new and verify that it works.

How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups

If it does, then restore your backup to either verify it still works and the software just needed reinstalled, or isolate the issue to the backup file itself. Thank you for using Apple Support Communities, all the best!
