When i open Safari from my homepage, I am unable to write in the address bar at the top of the screen. If i click on it to write anything it just reverts back to the homepage. My macbook pro and iPhone 6s are fine. My iPad air is the problem. HELP !!

Disable Search Engine Suggestions
Disable Safari Suggestions
Disable Quick Website Search
If it does not help enable private mode surf.

You may try but I am not sure if it will get back to norm. Hope Apple will address this issue soon.
